The human condition of grief can be considered a very isolating experience. After the death of my husband, I chose to create a serious of self portraits expressing my vulnerability. Each image was taken by myself in the privacy of the emotional space I was inhabiting. I wanted to see how I appeared on the outside, as I had been internally struggling for too long. This project took serious initiative. A transformative process, I look at these images now with love and compassion for a self that no longer exists. There were times of deep reflection, pain, hysterics and looking to the environment for answers. I wanted to capture it all.
